Goodness Incorporated

Build relationships.
Share Life.
Point to Christ.

"Do your little bit of goodness where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world."

- Desmond Tutu

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a welcoming, comfortable, accepting atmosphere to all, to develop genuine relationships, and share the love of Jesus Christ.

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care"

A warm cup of coffee and a listening ear, sometimes that's all it takes. A relationship is formed and a bond is created. It may happen in a few minutes or over the course of weeks or months. Regardless, we continue to meet, to listen, to share. Casual conversation leads to sharing on a deeper level.

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."

Our goal at Goodness Incorporated is to encourage and facilitate the deliberate cultivation of relationships. We want to provide a comfortable place where all people can gather, believers in Christ, those who are seeking, and even those who have given up looking for God.

"Treat everyone you meet as though they are the most important person you'll meet today."

We seek a one-to-one ratio of those that are grounded in Christ, and those that are seeking. It is through that ratio that relationships will be formed and the love of Jesus Christ will be shared. Perhaps not quickly, but through the natural process of conversation.

Goodness Incorporated is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity. Donations received are tax-deductible.

Our Values

  • Relationship - True relationship develops from caring and a willingness to be open and transparent.
  • Respect - We embrace each individual’s unique talents, honor diversity, and operate in a spirit of cooperation.
  • Value - Each individual is a unique creation of God.
  • Truth - We will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and while we may not engage in “Power Evangelism”, we will always share the truth in Christ.

Our Events

  • Language & Friendship Community Meals - The second and fourth Thursday of each month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Our Somali, Karen, and Hispanic neighbors are learning English. However, while English is learned in sessions with local volunteers and ESL programs, the students go home where their native language is spoken, and return to their friends and workplaces where their language is spoken. We partner with Healthy Together Willmar, The Willmar Community Foundation, SALT, Adult Basic Education, and others to serve meals at The Goodness that include the Somali, Karen, and Hispanic students and helpful locals who do nothing more complex than sharing a meal and speaking English in a casual atmosphere.

Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow.

Ministry Teams

If you share our vision to reach the unchurched people of our area with the love of Jesus Christ, please consider joining one of our ministry teams. There are plenty of areas where you can use your gifts to serve.

For our Friday evening outreach, we are in need of:

  • Musicians - We need lots and lots of musicians to perform solo or in a group. Music plays a huge part of our evening events and we need all styles. We also want our musicians to feel freedom in playing all types of music, not just "church music"!
  • Organizers and Administrators - Do you have the talent of taking many diverse parts and making them work together? We need you!
  • Helpers - Feel more comfortable serving God on the business end of a broom? Or pouring coffee? Or just doing what needs to get done?
  • Those with Mercy - Our ministry is all about developing relationships. Many people that cross through our doorways just need someone to talk to and to listen.

For our Language & Friendship Community Meals, we are in need of:

  • Talkers and Listeners - Just come and share a meal, talk to, and listen to, our English-learning friends!

Other Opportunities

Financial Support - One of the long-term purposes of our coffee shop will be to generate income to achieve our ministry goals. However, we are not quite there yet. We need support for our outreach activities. We are recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity and donations are fully tax-deductible. If you would be willing to support this ministry with a gift, please contact us.

Your Ideas - We have been blessed with a beautiful, open, welcoming location that is in the heart of the city. It is our desire that this place be used to reach out to people who may be seeking God, but are not comfortable in a traditional church setting. If you have ideas for programs that would fit our mission, we'd love to hear them. Please contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.

Stay informed, please join our mailing list.

(We won't send your info to 3rd parties)

To the world you might be one person, but To one person you just might be the world.
